Where to begin? I am a homeschooling mom of 4 from highschool to first grade. We have taken care of an elderly woman who lives with us for 13 years, but until recently, has been pretty independant. Now, she is dependant on me for pretty much everything, including just getting up to get to her bedside commode. I love her very much and she is a part of our family (even if not physically), But the toll of this recent development is taking is wearing me down. I am trying to plan our school year, and do the thousands of things a mom is supposed to do while trying to figure out things like, who can I call to sit with her wile I'm out? I feel like I have exhausted my friends and family, and just feeling weary. Thank you for the safe place to say these things without feeling like I'm whining.
I am also trying to find a way for her to be able to travel with us in our car. We already have a stair lift to get her to the driveway, but she would have to climb into our SUV (only car we have) and she cannot do that. Options seem so expensive for a single income family. Woof! It seems so overwhelming!!
