I just received a legal notice that my aunt passed away. It was not a big surprise but not the news that anyone wishes to hear. She was always good to me. Unfortunately, I still have not finished grieving the loss of my father and sister in the past few years. There are so many unresolved issues.

My aunt was my only aunt and she was never very close to her only sibling, my mother. My father was an only child. Family support is so important during times like this. Sometimes it feels like being out in the water without oars.

Anyhow, on the bright side, it is Christmas. I have, miraculously, found a little place to move into and just finished the process. It is, interestingly enough, in the neighborhood that my grandparents, mother and aunt lived for many years. I am a third-generation resident! I do love it... So, here is wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Hugs, Glenda

Hi, Glenda.

Sorry to hear about your Aunt. Family are so important, especially this time of year. I'm glad you found a place that pleases you, where you can feel at home.

Umm, if time and energy allow, you might look into doing some family history research (genealogy). DH's mother got me started a few years ago. It appeals to the puzzle-solving part of my nature. My mother was an only child, as was her mother. I've had many fun hours doing research online, and met some nice folks doing similar research. It's given me more connection to where I come from and family traditions (a few are a little odd). You have the added benefit of living near to where your grandparents lived, so you may have some local resources, such as libraries, cemeteries, churches, etc. Well, it's a thought, anyway.

Happy holidays to you, dear Angel.
Love n hugs,
Barb
