Dear Friends and Supporters of NOFEC:
These past few months have been very challenging for me... As founder of NOFEC, there is still a part of me that believes in the bigger visions that I have held for so long for family caregivers.
However, it is with great sadness for me that I Inform you of my resignation as President / Founder of National Organization For Empowering Caregivers commencing May 1st. I, along with the Board of Directors have agreed to dissolve NOFEC due to a lack of funding, which I know you all understand.
As you know, over the past six and a half years I have been committed to providing assistance, support, education and referrals to informal family caregivers.
I am grateful for the support of our funders, to over one hundred volunteers who have helped in so many ways, to our clientele and to the Empowering Caregivers Community online.
To that end, many of the resources and support for caregivers will be ongoing. While NOFECs website, nofec.org will close, I have made a commitment to keep Empowering Caregivers web site, care-givers.com alive as it has served 5 million plus visitors from over 175 countries,
For those of you in need of a volunteer for your clients, we have transitioned our current clientele and volunteers who serve them to the Faith In Action Upper Eastside Volunteer program under the Direction of David Michel. His contact number is: 212.838.1504. Please feel free to contact him directly and give my name and NOFEC as the referring organization.
During the past year, I made a huge choice to reclaim my life. One of the ways that I chose to begin living more fully was to study ceramics, both the wheel and hand building. A new, creative expression has emerged. These next months will serve as an opportunity for me to immerse myself into a daily practice to see where it will take me. I will be studying at Skid more College for 5 weeks and venturing to Kyoto for one to four months at the end of October. I cannot express in words how happy I am with the direction this new path is guiding me on.
Please know, that I am still available for both keynote and workshop presentations. You can always reach me by phone and fax at 212.807.1204. My address will still be 425 West 23rd Street, 9B, New York, New York 10011. I can also be reached by email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Richest blessings to all of you.
