After both my husband and I smoked for many years, he quit last January. When relatives, on Thanksgiving, asked how he was doing with that, my mother, inexplicably, told everyone that he actually still smokes. This made my husband so mad, as he is very proud that he gave it up. I thought it was hilarious, not so much that she said it, but that it made him mad. I got my comeuppance the other day when I took Mom out for lunch. She was ahead of me and the hostess said something I couldn't hear to her and she answered. The hostess then seated us in the non-smoking part. I said, "Mom, did you just tell her we wanted non-smoking?" She said, "Oh honey, I'm sorry, I thought you were the one who quit."
