My m-i-l returns tomorrow after a month of being gone following a shoving incident (she shoved me). I cannot tell you the amount of dread I have going into this - the woman is mean, gets joy out of being hurtful. She was nothing like this prior to the alzheimers, so I have to consider that the disease has made her mean. Whatever the cause, she comes back tomorrow. I ask for your prayers, that I will be able to care for Mae in the spirit of the Lord, do it as unto Him and not allow the mean remarks to get to me. I don't just want to provide for her needs, but take care of her well - a challenge, but then, the Lord can handle any challenge, can't He?! Thank you for your time and prayers.

Dear Gracenhope:

My thoughts and prayers are with you and I hope that this time away has been good for the both of you. It is true, however, that Alzheimers can alter the personality to the degree that you have described. Try not to take anything that she says personally and look inward for the inner strength that is within you. Meanwhile take care of yourself and remember to enjoy this day to the fullest...

Love and Hugs from Glenda
