I am a Health Science student at Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri. I've learned and realized that adult Americans' don't give themselves a lot of time for THEMSELVES. Two major elements of good quality of life is social wellness and physical fitness, and I don't believe adults are giving adequate attention to their own. This is due to worrying about the lives of others and keeping up with the present.
Socializing is a very important element in quality of life. The children citizens have the opportunity to socialize through school and after-school programs, in addition to having more free time than their parents. Adults tend to forget about the importance of socialization and activity and label it as a lower priority due to fast paced society. Human beings need to interact with each other and there is a variety of ways to do just that, I just don't think adults are taking advantage of it as much as they should.
Another element of a good quality of life is good physical and mental health. Lack of physical activity is a risk factor that can be minimized and eliminated in a number of simple ways.
Since adults can sometime have difficulty making time for themselves and their well being, they need to find ways to combine the different elements of good health and well being. Socialization and physical fitness are both aspects of life that something such as joining a gym could take care of. A gym or recreational center could provide activities and programs to all ages of the community that will keep them fit, active, and social. Activities such as coffee meetings or dinners can be simple opportunities for adults in the community to socialize and get to know each other better, as well.
Adult citizens need to embrace their health and enhance their lives. Gyms and social get-togethers provide excellent chances to allow them to do just that. Adults need to realize what a great opportunity they have sitting right in front of them and take it! They need to seek out these opportunities and get active, get involved, and get healthy! I believe that America's quality of life will greatly improved if American adults do something for THEMSELVES!
