Guess I missed doing a post for mothers day, computer problems..now it's almost fathers day..I've been thinking a lot lately about my parents, the caregiving years..and their passing..one thing I know is I would do it all over again, maybe better than the first time..guess thats called a life experience..
My mom..I still can see her twinkling eyes smiling..funny how even when she was on life support her eyes never lost their twinkle..she was my mom and my best friend and for that I will always be grateful..thanks mom for what I inherited from you..your kindness, compassion, and patience..
My dad..I will never forget how you liked to "show off" your daughter and son-in-law to everyone..lol..a lot of times we'd call, tell you we were on our way over, and would arrive at your building and could hear you down the lonnng hallway to the lounge, telling someone in there that your daughter and son-in-law were coming over..: )..that's the last thing you said before you suffered your last stroke too, which is forever stamped in my mind..telling the nurse that your daughter and son-in-law were there to visit...I thank you Dad for what I inherited from you...your sense of humor, your sarcasm(as annoying as it was at times..lol)..and your love of animals and fishing..
We love you both and miss you both very much...
