My husband was diagnosed with stage 3 lung cancer in January of this year, which was officially declared in remission in June. However, now the doctors suspect his recent 4 bouts with pancreatitis are in fact caused by the lung cancer having spread to his pancreas. The biopsy is scheduled for Friday (12/09) with the results and oncologist appointment the following Thursday. However, we asked what else it could possibly be, and the doctors had nothing else to offer. Of course, that means there is hope, but we don't think most doctors (especially multiple doctors) will use the word cancer when there are other likely options. Caregiving up to this point has been difficult, and I know that it will get worse with the pancreas pain being so intense, so I'm gearing up for it to be bad this time around.

Hello Claire:

I pray for good news for you and your dear hubby at your Thursday appointment. This waiting can be such a stressful time... I hope that you are gearing up to take care of yourself too! I find meditation, music, hot chocolate, scented candles, stretching exercises, and other calming influences can help to create some peace during difficult times. Try to enjoy the holiday season, grab every minute of joy that you can and keep the faith. I know how easy it is to worry and how often for naught... Doctors are not always sure... Let us pray this is the case for you and your hubby. Either way, we are here for you to support you and your beloved in any way we can. Just know that you are not alone - we have been through similar experiences and know firsthand how difficult it can be. Stay strong!

Hugs, Glenda
