I never been accustomed to being a winner
But there is something I just got to try
though I am hardly more than a beginner
And I am so well aware how money can fly.
But I am going to go try my hand at cards
The only game in this town is just poker
My better judgement I shall not disregard
At the gambling table I will be a smoker.
My face shall not be so very easy to read
For grief in my life has turned it to stone
I will look collegiate I will dress in tweed
Perhaps a bit of a dandy with a dash of cologne.
