Every day this week, God has been placing two scriptures in my spirit, thru his WORD, thru song, message at church Sunday, and in a Christian Magazine sent in the mail. I have been meditating on these all week. GOD has not changed my situation, BUT GOD has changed ME in my situation. The two scriptures are,
James 1:2 & 3 --Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.
James 1:12--BLESSED is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that GOD has promised to those who love him.
This is what GOD has been showing me. And I really LOVE the Lord. I have these scriptures hanging around me at work, home and in my purse. When things get a little tuff, I'll go back to these scriptures, because we know that"GOD will do what he said he will do in his WORD", and I am a woman of great FAITH. In the last week, GOD has showed me what my PURPOSE is in life at this time, which is to take care of my dad, and I thank and praise him every day. My whold attitude has changed as a caregiver, I want to stay in GOD's WILL, so I know everything I'm doing, it's unto the LORD. I hope this may help someone understand why we are chosen as caregivers, it was not our chosing. May GOD BLESS you and continue to give you strength.

Hello Maryann,

This is beautiful...the most important challenge many caregivers face is having faith and trust in the higher power.

Many a caregiver also has specifically chosen to care for their loved one(s). This too, may have been divine intervention or a bigger picture, but many have specifically chosen to care in their own hearts.

Caregiving can be difficult but it caregivers reach out for support, they can learn ways to transform and heal their roles in caring.. the strongest is opening to love. The higher power is everywhere omnipresent in each and everyone of us..tapping into the presence, feeling the love, knowing one is not alone gives a strength that many could not have imagined...

Thank you so much for posting this.

Richest blessings
Gail
