You are such a doll! Keep your ear out for jokes of any kind (lol). Humor is so important during this time of our lives it seems...
I started school (part-time) when I came to care for dad because he needed his space and didn't deserve to be stuck in a care-giving situation. It was originally because he wasn't safe in his own home anymore!!! However, health problems arose - TIA's, cancer, hospice, degenerated knee causing falls, etc... and so it was a blessing in disguise that I came to care for him!
But school on top of it is so challenging!!! So many distractions during the day. I know I will be up until midnight or one again doing homework while he is sleeping (I hope). I can imagine how hard it must have been for you during the last year while you were caring for your mom and working at the same time... amazing!
But, I love it all and will be done in a year or so, but (jeez) the work world has changed a lot! For me, it was important to keep up my own interests and further myself during these care-giving years. And, nowadays, with online education (at reputable institutions) it is easier to move forward in our lives while care-giving. Not only does it keep me somewhat sane, I think it is part of caring for myself... and so the subject tonight is "helicopters" (lol)!
